EOR TRUTH / SWISS PAYROLL

Same Swiss payroll.
Which quote costs less?

For CHF 36,000 of monthly payroll, our example saves £350 a month with the higher service fee. The difference is the conversion markup.

Fictional quotes and exchange rates, not supplier prices or current market rates. The GBP example assumes £1 = CHF 1.20, a £500 fee plus 2% markup for A, and a £750 fee with no markup for B. Payroll scope and service are identical.

One payroll amount. One funding currency.

Markup here means a percentage surcharge on the reference-rate funding amount. Default extras and deposits are assumed zero for illustration. Replace them with confirmed terms; leave an unknown field blank to stop the comparison. Setup and other one-off charges are outside this model.

When does the decision change?

At CHF 15,000 of monthly converted payroll, the quotes tie. Below that, A costs less; above it, B costs less. Service fees and markups stay fixed.

Refundable deposits affect upfront cash, not the recurring saving. The first-funding row excludes unentered one-off charges and assumes one full payroll period is funded.

Three currencies. The same underlying comparison.

Keep CHF 36,000 of payroll and the same hypothetical service fees: CHF 600 equivalent for A, CHF 900 for B. A adds 2% to the converted payroll base; B adds none. These deliberately simple rates illustrate arithmetic, not a preferred funding currency.

What does the calculation include?

GBP example: CHF 36,000 ÷ 1.20 = £30,000 before markup. Quote A adds £500 + (£30,000 × 2%) = £1,100. Quote B adds £750. The £350 monthly difference equals CHF 420 at this assumed rate.

The break-even base is (£750 − £500) ÷ 0.02 = £12,500, or CHF 15,000. This changes if service fees, markup or other recurring charges change. The annual saving holds all inputs constant; it is not an exchange-rate forecast.

Rate margin or added fee?

A provider can quote a different exchange rate instead of a separate surcharge. Compare how much funding it requires to deliver the same CHF amount. Do not add a separate markup again if it is already included in the quoted rate. This calculator assumes a reference rate before markup.

The ECB publishes reference rates for information; they are not transaction quotes. Use the same timestamp and settlement basis when comparing actual offers.

Teamed’s supplied policy is no FX markup on payroll currency conversion. Include it when seeking a comparable quote, alongside the service fee, country scope and support. Neither A nor B represents Teamed or another provider.
